The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) is a leading international research and innovation center in secure, reliable, and trustworthy ICT systems and services at the University of Luxembourg.
SnT takes on a wide range of projects, including autonomous vehicles, cybersecurity, FinTech, IoT, Space Systems, and more.
The SnT plays an instrumental role in Luxembourg by fueling innovation through research partnerships with industry, boosting R&D investments leading to economic growth, and attracting highly qualified talent from various fields, including mathematics, computer science, arts, and others.
Infrachain particularly collaborates with SnT’s SEDAN and FINATRAX research groups.
The newly established SEDAN (SErvices and Data mANagement) research group, headed by Dr. habil. Radu State addresses impact oriented research activities in the areas of security, service management and monitoring. More specifically the group is interested on designing architectures, algorithms and approaches in the context of the new challenges given by ever increasing volumes of data, multiple and permanent connectivity and new distributed consensus systems based on blockchain paradigms. For this purpose we address scalable virtualization mechanism based on unikernels, programmable dataplanes and data analytics as key enabling building stones for our research activity.
The FINATRAX Research Group, headed by Prof. Gilbert Fridgen, investigates the application and impact of Blockchain/DLT, Digital Identities, Artificial Intelligence, and 5G on organisations in the private or public sector. By doing so, it builds bridges between business research and information systems engineering. The interdisciplinary team and collaborations with public authorities, such as Luxembourg’s Ministry for Digitalisation or the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, as well as partners in industry allow the FINATRAX group to conduct timely and innovative research and transfer this research into practice.
